Metric Sheets

Holistics Metrics save you time from typing metrics from different data sources into a spreadsheet table for regular KPI reporting.

Multiple metrics can be grouped together into a Metric Sheet (or KPI Spreadsheet), giving you a bird’s-eye view of all those metrics.

Headers, sub-headers can also be used in the sheet to make it easier to organize the selected metrics.

You can add metrics to different metric sheets to share with different teams. They can view and download their metrics by any number of day, week, month or year intervals.

Metrics can also be included as a widget in your dashboard.

What Should You Use This For?

Investor Reporting: Impress your investors by making it easy for them to analyze your growth trends by any time period they need.

Management Reporting: Know the health for various aspects of your business in real-time without spending time preparing it.

KPIs for Teams: Setup different metrics sheets to track progress of your company and team metrics.

How It Works

Defining a metric in Holistics requires just a simple SQL query, with the {{time_where}} string included within.

1. Define a metric with a SQL function that returns a single value.

This can be a count, min, max, sum or average calculated from values in a database column.

For example, you may want to count the number of sales orders from your application.

SELECT count(1) FROM orders
WHERE {{time_where}}

2. Define the SQL expression for the date field to aggregate your metrics.

Depending on the time period being queried, Holistics will translate {{time_where}} to the correct range condition.

For example, if you want to aggregate your metric by the date the order is created, you can use created_at for the time field expression.

3. Add the metrics into a metrics sheet or a dashboard.

You can group the metrics you’ve created in a metric sheet with different movable section headers and indentations.
